Integration of AV-Metrics Into rav1e, the AV1 Encoder

Hi,

Hope all are doing well, in this COVID-19 Outbreak and the lockdown, let us take a minute sometime to pray for the people who did pass away and who are under diagnosis with Corona,

So, this blog post aims to provide some technical overview of how introduction of v-frame, migration to v-frames for av-metrics and also integration of av-metrics into rav1e will help for rapid analysis. Rapid analysis like measurement of encoder’s complexity with metrics like PSNR, SSIM, A-PSNR, PSNR-HVS, MS-SSIM, CIEDE2000 etc.
These are based on IETF NETVC testing draft.

rav1e and gains on ARM Devices

Hi,

It’s been a while I have written a blog about the work I am doing lately. So yeah, I have been working on rav1e, the AV1 Encoder written in rust as part of Project Iris. Currently, if we see, there are other Open-Source Encoders available like libaom from Google, SVT-AV1 from Intel and Netflix. Rav1e’s memory footprint makes it a good starting point for new-cases like Software Encoding in ARM devices, Real-time streaming, while libaom and SVT-AV1 are either too slow or resource-intensive. So it would be much easier to make rav1e fast and power-efficient due to the low-complexity functions.

Why you should care about AOM-Analyzer Tool !

Hi Folks,
It’s been a while I have written a blog, this is the right time I guess. So lately I am trying to do a kind of research with video encoding in power constrained devices as part of my undergrad thesis project. So I was going into more details about encoders in general. After that, I have also gone through the details about HEVC, AV1 and all.
We all know about very positive development advances in AV1 when we see with HEVC. So if you are not following anything in this digital video field, AV1 is next generation and new standard after HEVC.It could have like 40% better picture quality than HEVCcross-platform but as_of_now the main issue or the main disadvantage of av1 is the fact that it is very compute intensive, for solving this issue the much required thing would be having a nice software which does a full analysis of the video including the metadata.

It introduces the media center (aka. the libraryView), which provides users with a whole new way to browse and play video files on their computers. A new control system for video playback was also developed.

So I am a Custom Rom Maintainer and starting to be a developer. This post was in DRAFT for nearly 2 months.

Many people buy a new phone, slap a case on the phone and call it a day. However, those of us that don’t really like cases – mainly due to the added bulk – have other options now. Instead of just keeping our phone naked. Which looks good, but not after you’ve dropped it. The other option that I’m talking about here are the skins

Skins for your smartphone. dbrand is a company who makes all kinds of skins and has been around since 2011.For Indians its really hard to buy a dbrand skin so there is an alternative option to go for GADGETSHIELDZ SKINNOVA SKINS. Best part of this website is that it offers huge variety of customization for the Mobile which Indians uses.

Hi,

I would like to say, few trends which are going to be mainstream in upcoming months and years from 2015.

1. 64-bit computing going mainstream

This year, 64-bit computing became a standard affair, even in mid-tier and budget segments. Right from first-time brands to the Sonys and Apples of the industry, every smartphone maker went for powering devices with 64-bit chipsets. Take for instance the Yu Yunique, which is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, for a price of Rs. 5,999. Budget segments are no longer pushovers, and 64-bit processors made a crucial case for these devices

After about a few hours with the latest operating system, here’s what I noticed first about Windows 10

We have known almost everything about what’s going to be new with Windows 10 for some time now, and here it is for us to experience. We’ve spent a couple of hours fidgeting around with it, and here’s our thought after some time of usage:

Speed

Windows 10 has been really, really fast till now. Booting to the desktop takes 42 seconds on average, including entering a 10-character password. Running apps in the background, and there is no hint of a stutter. Everything from navigating through folders to launching an application and playing a new movie is so far a breeze, and Windows 10 seems to be the most responsive Windows till date. And last But Not the least the mutiple handing is top notch .
